"God is in Control"

Praise the Lord! It is always an extreme pleasure to be able to come into the presence of God. We thank him and honor him for allowing us to live and see another blessed day. When we behold the beauty that is around us, that brings us in connection with the father and his great power. When we behold the different races of people that he created and placed on the face of this earth, we are a witness to the manifold power of God. So having that in mind, we need to always be mindful that if God created this wonderful world that we live in and he also allowed for us to live, move and have our being, than he is in control of our lives as a whole. It isn't just when things are what we view as "good times" that he is in control. He is in control even when our lives are out of control. In the bible Jesus clearly exemplifies that "I know the thoughts that I have towards you saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you a future and an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11)." So, when you are tempted to want to give up and feel that things are not going to get better, meditate on the word of God. Let it saturate your mind and heart because the word of God states "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7)." I love you in Jesus name and pray your continual strength, growth and transformation in the Lord.

In His Name,

Jennifer

"Are We Any Different Than the World?"

As I sit and contemplate the times that we live in, I am constantly reminded that "there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9)." We as people have not evolved much from the way we were in the beginning. Similarly today as it was in history, the focus is on financial attainment, popularity, relationships and many other "worldly examples." The things that we as people gravitate towards and perceive as great accomplishments, achievements and successes in life are viewed differently from our heavenly father. The world's mentality is to "acquire all that you can, doing what you can" but, the word of God tells us "what profit is it to man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul (Matthew 16:26)?" We have more at stake than just gathering up things in this life. Our spiritual well being and where we spend eternity is the more pressing issue. That is why we as children of God need to be better representatives to the world and how we represent the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We can't get so taught up in the world's system that we "water down" the Gospel of Jesus Christ to become popular or be seen as "politically correct" for Jesus states in the word, "whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven (Matthew 10:33)." When people see us, they need to see Jesus exemplified through our lives and that is not through our own efforts or trying to make ourselves appear "spiritual" before people, but, it is dependent upon the power of the Holy Spirit to shine through our lives and help us walk as children of light. So as you go through your daily life ask yourself this question:"Am I any different than the world?" Am I making it my aim to be about my "father's business" or am I, like others, focused on myself and my own self ambitions?" People are dying all around us everyday. Even though many people may not be considered physically dead, but many people are the "walking dead." They are the "walking dead" because they are living in spiritual darkness without God as a part of their lives. So, my prayer is that we as people that have ourselves been "the walking dead" and saved by God's grace and love, will make it our objective to again better represent him in our daily lives and will be passionate to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others, so that they may have life and that more abundantly through Christ Jesus (John 10:10)."

"The Happiness of Trusting in the Lord"

Where do our joy come from? Does it come from material things, people, awards and recognition? Does it come from a touch, an embrace, a "thank you" or "I love you?" If we really want to be truly happy in this life and have full wholeness, we must realize that true happiness and completeness comes from the Lord. "There is no substitute!" People often look to many things that this life has to offer to accomodate for the emptiness that resides internally in their hearts and not understand that, that longing and emptiness is there and only God is the one that can make "what is wrong right." I love the Lord because he first loved me and gave his son Jesus for my eternal benefit(John 3:16). If you don't have a relationship with God it is never too late. God's arms are open wide and he is willing and open to receive you into the body of Christ. All you have to do is confess, repent and turn to him and he will clean you up and make you brand new. It is at this point that you really understand and know the happiness of those who trust in the Lord!
